PREVENTION PROGRAMS

How We Work to Make a Difference

Handle with Care

Law enforcement and schools work together to give students exposed to trauma the additional guidance they need.

Mobile Response & Stabilization Service (MRSS)

MRSS aids families who need intensive services for children with emotional and/or behavioral issues.

PAX Good Behavior Program

PAX employs strategies to create a nurturing classroom environment while teaching kids to self-regulate and respond appropriately.

Prison Re-entry & Community Transition Programs

These programs help those exiting prisons to find homes, jobs, services, and the support they need for a smooth transition back into society.

Suicide Prevention

Every day, over 100 Americans die by suicide. PCMHRB is expanding our suicide prevention programs to address this growing epidemic.

Our Partners

Collaborations Across Organizations & County Lines Means Better Results

PCMHRB works collaboratively with:

  • Job & Family Services
  • The Sheriff’s Office
  • Preble County Health District
  • Juvenile Court
  • All 5 County School Districts
  • The Faith-Based Community

PCMHRB also works with different counties by providing:

  • Suicide Prevention Services
  • Prevention Programming
  • Knowledge Sharing
  • MRSS Services
  • Grant Writing
  • Shared Funding

By Voting YES on Issue 16, you can ensure our community continues to receive the support, advocacy, and prevention programs we need to protect our health and our wallets.

We Can’t Afford to Do Nothing

Doing Nothing Can Hurt Our Mental Health & Ultimately Cost Us More

The cost of treatment is substantially higher than the cost of prevention. The estimated cost of drug abuse in the United States is more than $820 billion a year, and clinical depression led to the United States spending $2.4 trillion in 2013 alone.

Without support from the PCMHRB, our youth would not receive the mental health support currently provided in all five school systems and within the community.

More About Preble County Mental Health & Recovery Board

In addition to our prevention programs, we also do the following:

  • Own a recovery house for women which runs at capacity and operates with accountability measures for the residents
  • Fund services to the Preble County Jail, the Council on Aging, the domestic violence shelter, and our schools
  • Fully fund Cherry Street Clubhouse and supports the SAFE program for at-risk families
  • Lead the Substance Abuse Prevention Partnership in which organizations from our community work together through prevention activities
  • Seek grant funding to minimize costs and address gaps in services to support Preble County families

If Preble County does not pass this levy, PCMHRB will be forced to cut several programs that are making a positive impact in our community
